Skoda Models will Acquire Wireless Charging for Smartphones

The company Skoda has developed a new wireless charging system for smartphones - Phonebox. The new technology will be available in the Octavia and Superb models from the middle of 2016. The cars equipped with Phonebox system will show at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

With the device can charge smartphones that support the technology on the induction charging standard Qi. Energy passes from a transmitting coil located in Phonebox, to a receiving coil in a mobile phone; as data is exchanged between devices for optimal energy transmission. During charging, the phone is ready for use.

Smartphones from Google, Blackberry, LG, Nokia, Microsoft, Samsung and Sony already support Qi wireless charging technology. Also, Phonebox allows you to connect your mobile phone to the antenna of the car and improve the level of reception of cellular network signal. At the heart of new items are planar antenna technology: connection to the smartphone takes place via inductive charging and the signal is transmitted to the car antenna.
